NWOC was founded by five paddling entrepreneurs in October of 1980. Our goal was simple: to provide safe, high quality boating intruction for people in the NW. Years later, the concept has expanded but the goal remains the same. NWOC is best know for its classes, rentals, and tours, which are detailed in our class brochure. We also have over 100 kayaks available for use right from our docks, on Lake Union. Most of our classes and tours are for the beginner, from Rescue classes to Whitewater to Whale Searching. We also offer surf technique classes for those adrenaline junkies out there. We started selling gear because of customer demand for quality kayaking accessories. While we have more items in our store, this covers many of the items that kayakers can't do without. Whether you visit us here in our store, or mail order some gear for yourself or a friend, we would love to help you.
